You're 3 months old!

Hello Evie!
This past Sunday, you turned 3 months old. I really can't believe it. I have no idea what happened to that sleepy little blob we brought how back in March, but there is an alert, inquisitive, happy, smiling, giggling, strong-as-all-get-out little lady in our house! I don't have much to compare it to, but to me you seem incredibly ahead of the curve! Starting around 2 months, you began standing so strong on your feet when we hold your arms. You have head control that is nothing short of astounding. And you are such a little string bean! 12 pounds, 13 ounces, and towering at 25 1/4 inches long! You are in the 50th percentile for your weight and head circumference, but completely off the charts for your length. So, you look like your daddy and you got his height too! But, your eyes are slowly turning from gray to a beautiful shade of hazel and green, so maybe you'll have my eyes!

Last Wednesday night I heard you giggle for the first time. My life since has pretty much been dedicated to making you do it again. We were playing in your nursery and I had you on your side and for whatever reason, you thought it was hilarious. That night after you went to sleep, I went in to check on you, and you found you had the strength to roll onto your side and fall asleep there. So, two milestones in one day. It was so sweet, but a little part of my heart broke too. You are growing up so fast, and while everyday brings new things to be excited about, you get one day further away from being my little girl. Some things that I loved so much are already gone, like the way you used to curl up and fall asleep on our chests while we patted your back. You actually really hate being on your tummy now. So that sweet time has come and gone :( The next morning you held your bottle, and you are getting really good at hanging onto your little stuffed giraffe, Sophie. You also have become quite the talker this month! You just hang out and gurgle and coo and and chat with us in your own little language. It's pretty great to hear. We of course talk back to you! I have no doubt that you will be talking and walking by your first birthday!

So we have officially been together for a year, little girl. What a year it has been! I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to make it through my pregnancy with you, and even childbirth for that matter, but that has become part of our story, and the last 3 months I have been happier than I ever knew I could be.

On Sunday your daddy and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. He surprised me with the sweetest thing ever, had edited together a video using photos of our 8 years together. Although we have had so much fun, traveling the world and being silly together, this past year of our lives was pretty monumental with your arrival! So here is the video. I think it perfectly captures the way you have changed our lives and made it better than we ever thought it could be.

I love you Evalyn June! Excited to see what kind of milestones you hit this month!
